	wwSocial Service Council The ACBC managed elders homes comes under this council. The 17 homes have a intake of 500 plus inmates. Though no fee is levied on inmates with the high cost of living the ACBC is finding to go unless the donations and contributions increase substantially. ACBC has one paying elders home for 50 inmates and the demand is very high for such homes. During the recent drought in the Southern Sri Lanka the council was involved in collecting and distribution of dry rations and water while ACBC head quarters act as the collecting center. At a recent ceromny the President Ms. Milina Sumathipala was kind enough to donate 12 wheel chairs to deserving people selected from the applicants responded to a press notice. The selection criteria was based on economic situation and the relationship with the village temple.
