Buddhist Literature Festival 2019

13th Buddhist Literature Festival, organized by the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress, jointly with the Ministry of Buddhist Affairs for the 9th year, was held at the Lotus Hall of the BMICH on 19th September, 2019. On the invitation of Mr. Jagath Sumathipala, President of the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress, the Chair was held by Rev, Diviyagaha Yasassi Mahanayaka Thero.

Following authors who have authored following Buddhist books published during the year 2018, were honored: Mr. K. W. R. M. R. Chamikara Bandara Pilapitiya for the book “Mahanuwara Yugaye Aprakata Viththi” (volumes one and two), Professor T. G. Kulathunga for the book “Anuradhapura Maha Vihara”, Mr. Gayan Chanuka Vidanapathirana for the book “Swarnamali Maha Chayithya Varnanaava”, Professor Chandrasiri Palliyaguru for the book “Maha Biso Leelawathie”, Rev. Lelawala Ariyadhamma Thero for the book “Mahasamaya Suthraya Saha Samayanthara Deva Sankalpa”,   Professor Sandagomi Koparahewa for the book “Sinhala Akuru Puranaya”, Pandith Ashoka Karunarathna for the book “Siduhath Mehesiya Yashodhara”, Mr. Rathna Sri Wijesingha for the book “Ran Thatiyata Gi Sindu”, Mr. A. L. S. Abeywikrama for the book “Ran Kabala Saha Ran Palasa”, Rev. Wethara Mahinda Thero for the book ”Dathaka Mahima”, Mr. Premarathna Samaranayaka for the book “Maha Manava”, Rev. Dampe Wijitharathana Thero for the book, “Sri Shakyamuni Draavadhana Maha Kavyaya” and Mr. Athula Jayadeva for the book “Swara Wessata Themi”.

All Ceylon Buddhist Congress awarded the Professor Gunapala Malalasekara Commemorative Award for the Best Service Felicitation to Professor Chandima Bandara and Solias Mendis Commemorative Award for the Buddhist Arts to Mr. Anura Wijewardhana.

Mr. Mathrudasa Liyanage was appreciated for the honorable services rendered for the betterment of Sri Lankan society through links with the All Ceylon Buddhist Congress on teaching Pali language and also through writing books. All Ceylon Buddhist Congress has taken steps to make special appreciations of Rev. Rambukkana Siddhartha Thero, and also Professor Sanath Nandasiri and Dr. Victor Rthnayaka, related to Buddhist songs. Award of Professor Vinie Vitharana Appreciation Commemorative volume was also carried-out.

President of All Ceylon Buddhist Congress Mr. Jagath Sumathipala, Professor G. B. Disssanayaka and Mr. Chandraprema Gamage, Advisor, Ministry of Buddhist Affairs joined the presentation of awards and a large number of Maha Sangha and lay members also attended.
